On Saturday, February 21, 2026, Greenville’s The Radio Room overflowed with fans eager for a night of heavy local talent and nostalgic anthems. The evening reached its roaring climax with a headlining set by enRAGE Against the Machine. Channeling the explosive, politically charged aura of their legendary 90s namesakes, this tribute act brought the house down with bone-rattling bass lines, aggressive militant rhythms, and fiercely delivered vocals. They transformed the venue into a chaotic blend of celebration and rebellion, leaving the packed crowd buzzing with raw energy.

Razorgrave Rages

Setting the stage for the headliner was the fierce middle act, local thrash outfit Razorgrave. Born in the Greenville scene in 2024, this independent group unleashed a blistering assault on the senses. Their set was a masterclass in modern heavy metal, characterized by vicious guitar shredding and guttural, commanding vocal work. Playing at breakneck speeds with relentless volume, they easily whipped the audience into a frenzy, sparking a massive, surging mosh pit that kept the crowd’s momentum climbing.

Blindstrike’s New Era

However, the emotional core and true centerpiece of the evening happened right at the start, as Blindstrike took the stage to open the show. This heavy, grunge-infused rock quartet—featuring Christian on guitar, Andy on bass, Drayton on vocals, and Michael on drums—made a highly anticipated and triumphant return from a long, tense layoff. The stakes were incredibly high for this gig; the band hadn’t shared a stage together since late last year, and remarkably, they hadn’t even managed a full-band rehearsal until the eve of the concert.

Adding to the tension was frontman Drayton’s health, as he was still recovering from a recent sinus surgery that involved the removal of his uvula. “I was worried it wouldn’t sound right,” Drayton confessed beforehand, acutely aware that he wasn’t fully healed. However, stepping into the familiar confines of The Radio Room—a venue they had conquered several times in the past—offered a much-needed sense of comfort. Once the lights hit, all anxieties vanished. “I felt great,” Drayton reflected after the set, noting that the performance “went off without too many issues”.

Blindstrike wasted no time establishing their dominance, leading the way with their electrifying track, “Living Proof”. This performance marked a massive milestone for the band, as they have officially finished recording their debut full-length album. Fans will not have to wait long to hear the recorded track, as “Living Proof” is slated to be released as a single by Blanket Fort Studio on March 17th (St. Patrick’s Day), with the rest of the album following shortly after.

This stellar opening performance marks the launch of what Blindstrike is officially dubbing their “year of expansion”. As drummer Michael pointed out, having tangible recorded material is essential for their growth: “Once you have material to send people, it makes it easier to grow. It’s hard to say, ‘We’re a band,’ when you only have one small taste of what you might sound like”. Armed with a completed album and a surge of confidence from a resilient stage return, Blindstrike is already pushing their boundaries well beyond South Carolina. They have booked their first out-of-state show in Atlanta and are actively courting venues in Athens, Georgia, to string together a weekend mini-tour. For a group that started out with just Christian and Michael writing heavy riffs in a basement, 2026 is poised to be the year they break out in a major way.
